Congratulations to Andre, a Year 12 VET Furnishing student from last year, for his practical work being nominated and accepted into the VCE Top Designs exhibition at the Melbourne Museum.

The exhibition is showcasing 83 of the finest works created by students who completed a VCE / VET studies in a range of creative subjects in 2021.

Andre’s Hall Table features a range of different joinery techniques such as Mortise and Tenon, Dowel, Biscuits and hand cut Dovetails joints.  Made from Australian Hardwood timbers of Jarrah and Vic Ash, it has a striking inlay design in the top that Andre designed himself.  This is an incredible achievement by Andre after two years of interrupted on and off remote learning experiences.  Andre is this year studying Communication Design at RMIT with the hope of becoming a Graphic Designer.  We wish Andre all the best of his future.
