ART WEEK
It has been fantastic to be back onsite for the whole year in 2023, particularly for our Art and Design Students. Students have completed a wonderful range of paintings, drawings, design and woodwork projects and have had the opportunity to be back in the Home Economics kitchen. Art Week gave us an opportunity to celebrate this, with high-quality student work displayed around the school. The activities that ran each lunchtime were very well attended, giving students the opportunity to cook rocky road, taste curries from different regions, practise still life drawing and make cards using the laser cutter. The Sustainability Project was launched during Art Week (in collaboration with the Humanities Faculty) to highlight issues around food security and sustainability. Keep an eye out for the Sustainability Project’s ‘pop-up’ art installation that will appear in the corridor in the not-too-distant future. Overall, it was a great effort from students and staff alike – thanks for getting involved!
